NewResilience, Continuity, the Pro levels and Agentic Verification: from safekeeping to proof you can recover. The new line-up is here.See what's new
Why this page changed. Production's /articles/codekeeper-vs-escrow4all is a long article on the old line-up: setup $249, "from $139", the Validated / Verified / Certified tiers, add-ons such as Assured Recovery, and a tick-and-cross table that marks Escrow4All down wherever its site is silent. This page follows the comparison template every competitor page now shares.
  • Legal review before publication. Every comparative claim on this page (hero table, cards, side-by-side table and FAQ) needs legal sign-off.
  • Every Escrow4All fact is cited from Escrow4All's own website, checked on 7 Oct 2026, with a numbered source. Production's article was not used as evidence. The facts file is import2/comparisons/escrow4all.facts.md.
  • The sub-line is neutral. It names the question any buyer should ask, not a weakness of the other provider.
  • The hero table shows three rows where both providers state something, so it reads as a fair summary, not a scorecard.
  • Name: the company writes both Escrow4All and Escrow4all; the page uses Escrow4All, as production does, and the legal name Escrow4all B.V. where it matters.
  • Fair on continuity: Escrow4All's SaaS Escrow includes hosting-partner commitments and Escrow4All taking financial responsibility, so the sub-line says both providers offer a way to keep a SaaS service going.
  • Production errors on the old page: it says Escrow4All's prices are custom only (its FAQ gives guide prices from €1,850 a year), that its range covers no continuity (its SaaS Escrow does), and that it delivers "a verification report with no added certificate" (an absence claim). It also has broken text ("automates daily .") and promises Codekeeper release processing "staffed 24/7/365".
  • 16 Oct: Continuity Pro added; base Continuity no longer includes Agentic Verification, so the hero row says "Included in the Pro levels".
Comparison

Codekeeper vs Escrow4All. Compare what comes back.

Escrow4All and Codekeeper both hold software under escrow agreements, and both offer a way to keep a SaaS service going. The question that matters is the same for any provider: will your software come back, and can you prove it?

Competitor details checked against Escrow4All's own website on 7 Oct 2026.

The short answer, fair to both sides. Most visitors on a comparison page want a verdict fast. Three cards give it without running anyone down: where Escrow4All may suit a buyer better (only what its site states, cited), where Codekeeper suits (only MESSAGING §6 facts), and the one question to put to any provider, us included. The first card rests on Escrow4All's English home page (guide prices in its FAQ), its SaaS Escrow page (more than 75 hosting providers) and its verifications page. Legal should review the card wording as a comparative claim.

The short answer

It depends on what you need back.

Both providers hold the code under an agreement. They differ in what happens next, and in the evidence you hold before you need it.

When Escrow4All may suit you

You want a Dutch provider with guide prices on its website, SaaS escrow backed by agreements with more than 75 hosting providers, and verification levels up to a full rebuild in a new development environment.1, 3, 4

When Codekeeper suits you

You want proof the deposit builds before you need it, the option of a recovery we run for you, or a hosted service kept paid and switched on for an agreed period while we recover. Prices are published per application.

The question to ask any provider

“Show me that this deposit rebuilds without the vendor, and give me evidence I can file.” Ask it of every provider on your shortlist, us included.

The side-by-side, with a source for every Escrow4All cell. The rows are the same on every comparison page, so buyers can compare providers across pages.
  • Codekeeper cells use MESSAGING §6 only: the 6 Oct list price for Escrow, software applications ($199, setup $499), Agentic Verification in the Pro levels (Escrow Pro, Resilience Pro and Continuity Pro), the Exit Exercise, Continuity's "paid and switched on for an agreed period", and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 as the only certification. Resilience recovery is shown as best effort, as §6 says.
  • Flagged ⚑: "50+ integrations", "synced daily" and "in over 150 countries" are production claims still open in to-confirm.md. "3,500+ teams" is production's figure too (MESSAGING §6, used unflagged on the home page); confirm it with the others.
  • Fact-check, 7 Oct: the Codekeeper column, and the Codekeeper cells in the hero summary, are now word for word the same on all nineteen comparison pages: Resilience recovery shown as best effort, Continuity as "paid and switched on for an agreed period", four rebuilds a year, a Tested Exit Report, and setup of $499 per arrangement ($999 for Continuity). Change them on every page or none.
  • 16 Oct: Continuity Pro added on every comparison page; base Continuity no longer includes Agentic Verification, so the verification cells name Continuity Pro.
  • Escrow4All cells quote or closely paraphrase Escrow4All's pages. Where we found nothing, the cell says "Not stated on their website", and the note under the table explains that this is not a claim that they don't offer it.
  • Prices are guide prices from the FAQ on Escrow4All's English home page, so the cell says so. Its own price tool (production calls it the "Escrowlator") wasn't used.
  • How long the SaaS continuity runs isn't stated on the SaaS Escrow page, so no duration is given.
  • Human-run exit test: VerifThree is the closest match (a new environment, a full compile, install and test, agreed by all parties). Whether business functions are tested isn't stated, so the cell describes the steps only.
  • Years and clients ("over 15 years", "since 2009", "over 3,000 clients") are on Escrow4All's home page but aren't needed for the comparison, so they're left out.
  • Legal review of every row before publication.

Codekeeper details come from our published line-up. Escrow4All details come from Escrow4All's own website, checked on 7 Oct 2026, with a source for each.

Codekeeper
Escrow4All
What's protected
Software, SaaS and AI applications. Each application gets its own protection and level.
Software Escrow, SaaS Escrow, Data Escrow, Registry Data Escrow and My Source Code Escrow1.
Who runs the recovery
Escrow: the deposit is released to you, and you run the recovery. Resilience: the deposit comes to us and we run the recovery, on a best-effort basis.
Once release conditions are established, “Escrow4All immediately delivers the material”. The supplier may object, and a dispute goes to a binding decision via the SGOA or the court2.
Keeping a hosted service switched on
Continuity: we keep the live environment paid and switched on for an agreed period while we recover.
SaaS Escrow: the hosting partner commits to “keep running” if the SaaS provider fails, and “Escrow4All assumes the financial responsibility to keep things afloat”. It partners with more than 75 hosting providers3.
Proof the deposit builds
Agentic Verification in Escrow Pro, Resilience Pro and Continuity Pro: AI agents rebuild the deposit in the Codekeeper AI Verification Lab, in hours, with four rebuilds a year included. Each successful rebuild issues a Recoverability Certificate.
VerifOne, a basic check on every deposit. VerifTwo compiles, builds, deploys and tests the application in the existing environment. Each level produces a verification report4.
Human-run exit test
Exit Exercise, an add-on to any plan: our specialists rebuild by hand in a clean room and test the business functions you nominate. You get a Tested Exit Report.
VerifThree: consultants create a new development environment, then compile, install and test the application, under a project plan agreed by all parties4.
Deposits
50+ integrations, with deposits synced daily.
An sFTP upload, or linked to the supplier's repositories on AWS CodeCommit, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, GitHub or GitLab, updated at the agreed frequency2.

“Not stated on their website” means we couldn't find it on Escrow4All's site on 7 Oct 2026. It doesn't mean Escrow4All doesn't offer it: ask them. Rebuilds run on supported technology stacks. Escrow means the deposit is released to you and you run the recovery. Resilience costs more because we do the recovery. Continuity costs more again because we also keep the live environment switched on.

Steps 2 and 4: the shift and the proof, briefly. After the table, the page says what Codekeeper believes, without contrasting it against Escrow4All: having the code is the start, having it back is the goal. The ladder is the same three proofs as on the home and Why Codekeeper pages, with the agreed wording (the Recoverability Certificate documents the rebuild and doesn't grant release rights). 16 Oct: Continuity Pro added; base Continuity no longer includes Agentic Verification. The Recoverability Certificate rung names Continuity Pro.

What's different

Proof beats promises.

Switching, without terms we can't confirm. Production runs a switching offer (a buyout agreement drafted "within 24 hours", "no extra costs", "$0" until the old contract ends) and the old comparison pages mention it. None of its terms are confirmed for the new line-up, so this strip only invites the conversation. Sales must confirm the offer before any term appears here. The button is mid-page navigation to the switching page, not a third CTA. It also reminds buyers to check their current notice terms, which is fair to both providers.

The secondary conversion, on every page. Visitors who aren't ready to talk can still leave their email. The sample evidence pack is the same offer on every page, so the site has one lead magnet instead of a different e-book per page. It also carries the launch story: proof, not promises. The five questions buyers ask when comparing. Switching, agreements, prices, verification and jurisdiction, in the order sales hears them. Codekeeper answers use MESSAGING §6 only. The switching answer reuses the Why Codekeeper wording, which sales should confirm. The price answer gives both sides without calling either cheaper, and asks buyers to compare what's included. The jurisdiction answer makes no Codekeeper claim about governing law or hosting region, which are still open in to-confirm.md. Legal review before publication. 16 Oct: Continuity Pro added; base Continuity no longer includes Agentic Verification. The verification answer names Continuity Pro.

Questions

Comparing Codekeeper and Escrow4All?

Can we switch from Escrow4All to Codekeeper?

Yes. Tell us about the agreement you have today, who's party to it and its notice terms. We'll plan the move with you and your counterparties. Ask us how switching works

What agreement do we sign with Codekeeper?

It depends on the protection. With Escrow, the Escrow Agreement sets out when the deposit is released to the beneficiary, and you run the recovery. With Resilience, a Resilience Arrangement brings the deposit to Codekeeper, and we run the recovery on a best-effort basis. A Recoverability Certificate documents a rebuild; release rights always come from the agreement.

How do the prices compare?

Both publish prices, in different units. Escrow4All gives guide prices: source code escrow with annual verification from €1,850 a year, and SaaS escrow typically €2,750 to €5,500 a year, excluding VAT.1 Codekeeper's Escrow for software applications starts at $199 per application per month, with $499 setup per arrangement, and Escrow Pro, from $449, adds Agentic Verification. Compare what's included: how deposits stay current, and what proof you hold before you need it. See pricing

How does verification differ?

Escrow4All offers three levels: VerifOne, a basic check on every deposit; VerifTwo, which compiles, builds and tests in the existing environment; and VerifThree, which starts from a new development environment.4 Codekeeper's Agentic Verification is included in Escrow Pro, Resilience Pro and Continuity Pro: AI agents rebuild the deposit in the Codekeeper AI Verification Lab, with no help from the vendor, in hours, and four rebuilds a year are included. Each successful rebuild issues a Recoverability Certificate. For a human-run test of the business functions you rely on, add an Exit Exercise.

Does it matter where the provider is based?

It can. Where the provider is based, where deposits are stored and which law governs the agreement all shape how a release works in practice. Escrow4All is based in Amsterdam, and a disputed release goes to a binding decision via the SGOA or the court.2, 5 Before you sign with anyone, us included, ask where deposits are stored and which law governs the agreement.

Sources, so anyone can check us. Every Escrow4All statement above links to one of these pages, read on 7 Oct 2026 (the facts file records the exact wording). The disclaimer line is the agreed text for all comparison pages; "tell us" goes to the contact page so corrections reach the team. Recheck these pages before launch and at least every quarter: prices and services change.
